Three Tips for Better Sleep
The Yogic science of Ayurveda has much to teach us that help us create a healthier lifestyle. Three tips from this ancient field to help overcome insomnia:
1. Warm milk (or almond milk) at bedtime helps. Try adding a pinch of nutmeg, cardamom and/or some crushed blanched almonds).
2. Massage warm oil into the scalp and soles of the feet before going to bed. Sesame oil is especially beneficial. [Practical hint: wear a pair of socks until the oil has been absorbed.]
3. Meditate before going to bed, to alleviate worries and anxieties that may disturb sleep. At the end of meditation, mentally offer the day up to your Higher Power at the spiritual eye.
